Mara Hoberman is Paris-based curator, art writer, and editor. From 2007 to 2011 she was a curator at the Hunter College Art Galleries in New York City and until 2012 she was the project manager for the Catalogue Raisonné of the Drawings of Jasper Johns. She is currently conducting research in Paris for the Joan Mitchell Catalogue Raisonné.
A regular contributor to Artforum, Mara has also written for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, E-Flux’s Art Agenda, Art Slant, Canvas and Whitewall.
Mara’s essays and artist interviews have been published in catalogues produced by galleries and museums including White Cube, Deitch Projects, The Swiss Institute, L&M Gallery, the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Essl Museum, the Middelheim Museum, the Louis Vuitton Foundation and the Palais de Tokyo.
Mara is the author of 461. Dix ans d’art contemporain which discusses trends and themes in contemporary art in France since 2011 via the work of artists whose projects have been supported by the Fondation des Artistes (Dilecta Editions: France, 2022)
