Mara Hoberman is a freelance curator, art writer, and editor based in Paris. From 2007 to 2011 she was a curator at the Hunter College Art Galleries in New York City and until 2012 she was the project manager for the Catalogue Raisonné of the Drawings of Jasper Johns. She is currently conducting research in Paris for the Joan Mitchell Catalogue Raisonné.
A regular contributor to Artforum, Mara has also written reviews and articles for E-Flux’s Art Agenda, Art Slant, Canvas, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Whitewall.
Mara’s essays and artist interviews appear in catalogues publised by White Cube (London), Gmurzynska Gallery (Zurich), Deitch Projects (New York), The Swiss Institute (New York), L&M Gallery (New York), the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Essl Museum (Vienna), the Middleheim Museum (Antwerp), and the Palais de Tokyo (Paris).
